![]() It might be seen as an arrogation itself. Denying the entitlement of contributors to post such advice is kind of "philosophical", but not in a positive sense. Villeroy posted a well considered advice (in his way of wording such things), and anybody may appreciate or even follow it - or not. (If I could easily format a tab delimited text table here it would be easier to follow, but just look at my spreadsheet for the real deal!) That being said, IF I have to have a formula in every cell of col E, then I want the cell results to by Blank/NULL unless it is the last entry of the day when a "Daily Total" would be calculated. ![]() I can't think of a way to have a "Daily Total" appear in col E only once a day unless I was using scripting to check when the end of the day occurs, and then populate a single "Daily Total" value in col E. But I guess that is a stupid idea, because Calc needs to check each row to see if it is the end of a day adn time to tally things up.įollowing me so far? (Just look at my spreadsheet and this should be clear.) I was lamenting if there was someway to have OO Calc only have a formula/value in the last row for the day. I only need a "Daily Total" amount once a day, um duh! That 355 is the number of calories I ate today, and it is the "Daily Total" in column E. If that is all I ate today, then across from the last row for today I would have this. =IF(ISBLANK(OR(inputcell_1 inputcell_2) "" yourformula))Įach day I make an entry in my "food journal" of what I ate. If I understood your problem exactly, you want prefill a cellrange with predefined formulas, and you need a virtually empty result cell, while the cells of the input parameters for your formula are empty. I have some more questions after this, but this is a good start!ĬalorieTracker_v01.ods (11.44 KiB) Downloaded 109 times Similar question from Issue #2 for the "Calories To-Date", "Diet Days" and "Avg Cal To-Date" columns. (By the way, I'd prefer not getting into macros right now as that is over my head!) Not sure if there is some way to only have the formula appear where I need it, and leave not applicate rows blank? My first attempt, was to create the formula referenced in Issue #1 and drag in down to every row in the column. (The number of things I eat in a day, and thus the number of rows, varies!!) In the past, for the "Daily Total", I would just manually copy & paste the formula wherever a given day wrapped up. ![]() Is there a way to make the field NULL if it shouldn't contain a Daily Total? In column E, I have a formula which displays the "Daily Total". There are several things I would like to do with this to reduce data entry. (I gave up on trying to create an HTML/BBCode table here!!)Īttached is a simplified version of a larger spreadsheet I am using to track my caloric intake. ![]()
